No stock footage and no highlight reel from someone else's gym. This is a normal afternoon in Syosset — coaches spotting, kids landing, and the foam pit doing what the foam pit does.
Starting at four
The first class is smaller than you think, and bigger than she expects.
A four-year-old walks in holding your hand. She meets one coach and five other kids. Forty-five minutes later she has hung from a bar, walked a beam without anyone holding her, and jumped into a foam pit on purpose.
That is the whole pitch. Not medals — the first time she does something she was sure she could not do, and looks up to see if you saw it.
- 1Arrive ten minutes early. Sign in, meet the coach, take a seat in the viewing area.
- 2She joins a small group and rotates through bars, beam, floor, and vault.
- 3You watch the whole thing from the air-conditioned viewing area with monitors.

Tammy Marshall is a two-time NCAA National Champion with a perfect 10.0, a former US National Team member, and an International Brevet judge. She has placed more than 50 athletes on full athletic scholarships. You do not have to care about any of that — but it is why the progressions here are safe and the spotting is right.
